Goal Setting Success

Achieving success with your goal setting success can be tough. So many things block us from achieving our goals. How many times have you been held back because you listened to other people's advice? .

Or because you feel you failed in the past in a particular area? Or because you have fears of failing because you haven't done anything similar before? Or because you lack self esteem? And often all these obstacles are piled on top of each other and stop us getting whatever it is that we want to achieve in life.

So how can you conquer the fears which get in the way of your dreams? Here are 3 steps to help you reach your goals with a bit more speed

Step #1 Do you know what it is you really want?

Too often other people tell us what's right for us and of course, they mean well, but ultimately, we have to make our own decisions. So although it's fine to listen to advice from other people, it's important to ask ourselves if what they are suggesting is what we really want. .

Step #2 Getting Your Goals on Paper - So What?

Everyone says you have to write your goals down and that this is without doubt the key to goal setting success, but just how many time shave you written out your goals and then lost the piece of paper or forgotten all about it?

The thing is, you need to figure out how you are going to get from where you are right now to wherever it is you would rather be. If your goals are challenging - things it'll take a long time to accomplish, perhaps because you need to do some studying along the way, you need to really think about the steps you'll have to take.

This means writing an action plan, working backwards from the final goal and figuring the smaller steps you need to take along the way, starting with something you can do right now, today.

Step #3 Taking Action

Taking action is important, but it isn't always easy to know exactly which action you should be taking and when. This is where you need to do some research. The Action Plan you created in step #2 needs to be based on research so that you have worked out a doable plan to get you from A to B.

Create an Action Plan which breaks your goal into smaller, more manageable steps giving you things you can do today and this week, as well as the bigger steps which might take months or years.

Design your plan to lead you step by step towards your goal I the fastest way possible. It is crucial to have mini goals - things you can achieve in a short time, because this will keep you on track and it will also give you an ongoing sense of achievement, which is important if your ultimate goal is way out there in the future.

So to sum up, don't forget that you must decide what you really want, go ahead with writing your goals, but remember to research them well and then you will find that creating your action plan will lead to goal setting success.
