But with affilate marketing, you don't have to worry about product creation, setting up payment options, refunds or downloads.

So this gives you the opportunity to learn how to sell on the internet, develop your online marketing strategy and earn money before you put in the effort to write your own ebooks or shoot your own videos.

How does affiliate marketing work?

First of all you must find a niche where there is a demand for products and in which there are some good quality affiliate programs which are doing well. Once you've made your choice, you sign up as an affiliate on the company website or through an affiliate network such as Clickbank. (There are others but Clickbank is a good place to start).

Next you have to build a website or squeeze page to promote the products. To persuade visitors to sign up, you have to make a tempting offer, usually some sort of free report, audio or video related to the product you are promoting.

And you need to follow up with a series of emails which give your readers interesting content on the chosen niche, as well as information about the product you are selling. So, if you are promoting a dog training product, your free report will relate to dogs and if you are marketing a weight loss guide, your free ebook could be a list of weight loss tips or some low fat recipes. And you'lll need to send out a couple of emails a week with tips, offers or articles.

How do you get people to your website?

Once your squeeze page is up, you need to get visitors and you can do this by using pay per click marketing or if you prefer not to spend money and have some free time, article marketing. You can also use search engine optimization techniques (known as SEO) to get your website ranked in the search engines and you will also need to get backlinks to your site.
